2 month checkup

Bryce did great at the doctor today. He weighed 10lbs, 5oz and was 23in. That puts him in the 25% for weight and 50% for height. Considering he didn't really even make the charts when he was born, these numbers are great! He got his 1st round of immunizations (2 shots in each leg) and took them like a champ. He hollered when they stuck him but stopped when they stopped. We're home now and he's acting normal, very happy.

No pictures for a while since Russell took the camera with him to Malaysia. He left last night and won't be back till mid October. As always, Josie is happy to see him go since she likes to sleep on his pillow.

A new friend

Today Bryce and I went to visit Ellen and her new baby, Patrick. Patrick is just 3 weeks old and Bryce was thrilled to finally be bigger than someone! You can see how happy he is in the picture. Ellen and I used to work together and I haven't seen her since July so it was nice to catch up and compare notes.

Bryce is gaining more head control by the day. I have started to put him in his bumbo seat a little bit since he can sort of sit up now.

Play date

Bryce and I went to have lunch with Missy and Avery today. Bryce slept through lunch while Missy and I ate. Avery sat in her high chair and tried to eat it. She's at the stage where everything goes into her mouth. Bryce started to wake up so we put the kids on the couch together. Avery leaned over and licked Bryce. Missy and I were hysterical. Hopefully Bryce will be a little more active next visit so Avery won't think he's just something to snack on.

Town Lake

I took Bryce to Town Lake for the first time to run today. My friend Michelle met me for the 4 mile loop. It's the longest distance I've run in months. It took 45 minutes (which is very slow!) but I made it. Bryce wanted to run and put on his Nikes that Papa gave him. While he looked ready to go I decided just to keep him in the stroller this time :)

Russell's Birthday

Russell was 28 yesterday and I think he had a good day. We started off with a run. Bryce and I gracefully let the birthday boy beat us home. Then off to work for Russell and a busy day for me. Russ' dad, stepmom and grandmother were coming in for a visit and will stay until Saturday. They arrived at the house in time for margaritas and mexican food from Chuys. Bryce was very happy to have company and smiled and played the whole time they were over. We were all pooped at the end of the night and Bryce slept well. I'm only getting up once a night to feed him which is wonderful!

Big Day

A lot happened on Friday. We are getting a new roof and they started work at 8am. By 8:02am I realized that Josie couldn't stay home all day. I called the vet and asked if she could be groomed and day boarded. They asked if we could be there by 9am. I said we would be there in 5 minutes. I popped Bryce and Jo in the car and off we went. Bryce and I then went to the grocery store since we were already out and that was on our list of things to do.

Next activity was meeting Russell at Dell for lunch. Dell was providing free concerts at lunch with some pretty big Texas artists. We really like Charlie Robison (who was playing on Friday) so we went. I've never been inside Dell and Bryce has never been to a concert so it wasa big event. Bryce slept through the whole thing but I'm sure he was enjoying the music in his sleep. Two of our friends also were there and very impressed with the baby's ability to sleep.

After lunch we all came home. I went to pick up Josie about 3pm. She has never been so clean. This was her first professional grooming and well worth it. Russell has always wanted to do this but I felt it was a waste of money. I think I just changed my mind...
